i used a 30-06 for my first hunt now im using a 243. for the long range shots.

I don't hunt anymore but I used a Savage 30-06 when I was hunting. Most people I know use a 270. I like the high velocity rifles better than the big power guns.

Yeah Savage is a very good rifle and not really that expensive either. Mine shot really good. You guys use bolt action, semi auto or lever action???

4x4 what model 30-06 did you have? i just got a savage 30-06 today but this one doesnt have the accu-trigger. cant wait to shoot it tomorrow!
